Baby found dead inside gutter in Anambra state

A baby was found dead this morning
inside a gutter along Upper New Market
road axis of Onitsha in Anambra State.

photo and sent it in. The baby was well

MTN loses big in Mobile Number Portability scheme

According to the Director of Public
Affairs of the Nigerian Communications
Commission (NCC), Mr Tony Ojobo,
almost half of MTN subscribers switched
to other networks during the recently
introduced Mobile Number Portability
(MNP) scheme.
According to figures released by Mr
Ojobo, MTN topped the losers table
among an overall number of subscribers
that switched service providers in the
telecoms market with 49%; followed by
Globacom with 23%; Airtel with 17%;
while Etisalat came last on the losers’
table with 11%. Which means Etisalat
emerged top in the number porting
scheme among the telecoms company.

Lagos state government rescues 25 children from alleged trafficker

The Lagos State Government has
rescued 25 children from an alleged
child trafficker in the Egbeda area of the
state, according to a story by Punch
The suspected trafficker, Mrs. Rosemary
Nwachukwu (pictured right), was also
arrested and has been handed over to
the Alausa Police Division, while the
children are currently in government’s
custody.
The government accused
Nwachukwu of operating an illegal
orphanage named, Saint Stephen
Charity Foundation, on Abiodun
Adebanbo Street, Egbeda.
It was gathered that officials from
the Office of Youth and Social
Department, led by the Director,
Child Development, Mrs. Alaba
Fadairo, in conjunction with
personnel from the Office of
Public Defender and policemen,
stormed the orphanage on
Saturday.
The government said findings showed
that the suspect was using the
orphanage as a front for another illegal
business.
The Director, OPD, Mrs. Omotola
Rotimi, said of the children, whose ages
ranged from three months to 12 years,
were victims of human trafficking.
Rotimi said, “It was discovered upon
investigation that Nwachukwu trafficked
27 children and kept them in a room.
We were able to rescue three infants of
ages three to six months and 22 other
children. Efforts are still on to locate the
remaining two.”
The OPD director added that the
suspect used the victims for financial
gains by putting them up for adoption.
She said the suspect would be charged
to court after investigations had been
concluded.
However, Fadairo, said, “Investigation
also shows that there are no records of
each child and no evidence of how the
children got to her orphanage. No
police or security report.”

WOMAN ARRESTED FOR ALLEGEDLY BUYING BABY FOR N1.2M

This woman traveled to
Nigeria without a baby and
few days later, was returning
back with a three-day-old
baby.
A middle-aged woman,Evelyn
Atemkng was yesterday,
arrested in Calabar for
allegedly buying a three day
old baby at the cost of N1.2
million.
She was said to have bought
the baby boy from a matron
of a clinic in Delta State.
“The lady came from Cameron
to Nigeria on Friday without
any sign of pregnancy but she was
found to be carrying a
baby and when my men
examined her there are no
signs that she just gave birth.
So, she and the baby were
apprehended”, said the Cross River
State Commander,whose
men accosted the lady when
she was boarding a ship to
Cameroon.
Investigations reveal that she
paid the money into a
matron's account but she
refuted the allegations,
claiming that the money she
paid into the account of the
matron was for delivery and
herbs she gave to her to aid
delivery.
“She (matron) said my breast
would start producing milk in
three weeks but for now the
baby is taking baby food,”
Atemkeng said.
Concerning the case,
investigations are still on-
going ...

Mark Zuckerberg got his Facebook wall hacked today, in a move that surprised and embarrassed the company today. Now if only somebody could do this to Google.Here is how the Telegraph reported it:
Khalil Shreateh, a systems
information expert from
Palestine, attempted to
report the vulnerability to
Facebook’s security team
twice, demonstrating that the
glitch was real by posting an
Enrique Iglesias video on the
wall of one of Zuckerberg’s
college friends, Sarah Goodin, with
whom he was not
connected.
However, Facebook dismissed
his warnings, claiming that the
issue “was not a bug”, as
only Goodin’s friends were
able to see the poston her
wall. Frustrated, Shreateh decided
to use the glitch to hack into
Mark Zuckerberg’s profile
page. Ina post which has since
been removed, he apologised
for breaking Zuckerberg’s privacy,
adding: “I had no
other choice… after all the
reports I sent to Facebook
team”.
In less than a minute,
Shreateh’s Facebook account
was suspended and he was
contacted by a Facebook
security engineer requesting
all the details of the exploit.
“Unfortunately your report
to our Whitehat system did
not have enough technical
information for us to take
action on it,” the engineer
wrote in an email. “We cannot
respond to reports which do
not contain enough detail to
allow us to reproduce an
issue.”
Facebook has a policy that it
will pay a minimum $500
bounty for any security flaws
that a hacker finds. However,
the company hasrefused to
pay Shreateh for discovering the
vulnerability because his
actions violated Facebook’s
Terms of Service.
In a Hacker News thread,
Matt Jones from Facebook’s
security team confirmed that the
bug has now been fixed,
admitting that the company
should have asked more
details afterShreateh’s initial
report. “We get hundreds of
reports
every day. Many of our best
reports come from people
whose English isn’t great –
though this can be challenging,
it’s something we work with just
fine and we have paid
out over $1 million to
hundreds of reporters,” he
said.
“However, many of the
reports we get are nonsense
or misguided, and even those
(if youenter a password then
view-source, you can access
the password! When you submit a
password, it’s sent
in the clear over HTTPS!)
